Hi! I'm Mary Ethel Rockcastle.
I live in Rochester New York, where I've found myself after graduating from Parsons the New School for Design with a BFA in Illustration in 2015. During my time at school I rekindled my love of sewing, taught to me originally by my grandmother as a child, and began quilting and making my own clothes. I have a studio space in the Hungerford building in the city of Rochester, where I paint, draw, sew, and make.
My full time profession is working in my family business, which is a florist shop. Sewing and making is still my side gig, but I showed a 7 piece collection at Fashion Week of Rochester and am currently working on my 10 piece spring collection for Sewn Seeds.
Things that go on this blog include:
personal sewing project, reviews of patterns, paintings, comics, pictures from day to day life.
Things I like:
dogs, marnie the dog, my dog oliver, all dogs, tattoos, supporting local artists and creatives, makeup, self care, talking about mental health, feminism, activism, girls who kick ass and take names, my boyfriend Sam, my boyfriend's dog Jayne, all dogs, mostly dogs.
