Dark Femme Floral: Tilly and the Buttons Arielle Skirt

by 4:24 PM
Hey Ya'll! I'm going to try to record all of my personal sewing explorations on this blog. Which means less consistency but hopefully long term this will lead to a more complete portfolio of my working mind. Today I'll be speaking about my Tilly and the Buttons' Arielle skirt. I really enjoyed making the skirt, and as with all Tilly patterns, the directions are clear and the product is flattering. I ALWAYS struggle with sizing, as my number sizes are always so significantly

June Favorites

Okay! This is more to keep track of my own life than to suggest other people buy things in order to contribute to a capitalist society, but if you wan't to pick up any of these things, they probably won't disappoint you. Starting from the left and working right: New Balance Sneakers: They cool, working out is cool. Having control over your body is neat. Sweet Yellow Sixties: Tilly and the Buttons Francoise Dress

I’m going to preface this post by saying I’m nothing special when it comes to this topic: I go to yoga but I’m no expert (I can’t touch my toes), I’m a thick girl but I’m about a size 16, I’m mentally ill but

Confessions of a Former Hoarder

by 9:50 PM
Lately I’ve felt the need to purge. Get rid of junk. Pick the rotten old scab off the skin of my life right now, even though my whole life kind of feels like a rotten scab.  Purging is not something that comes naturally to me as a person. In college I picked up a bit of a hoarding habit, I thought of myself often as a character in my favorite movie Labyrinth, a puppet who clomps around a land of trash and picks

The First One

by 9:38 PM
I'm not really sure what the purpose of this blog is yet. Maybe it doesn't matter what it's purpose or point is as long as it serves to quench a need I've been looking to service for a while now. I've been bursting out of my skin trying to communicate lately, writing essays, making comics, trying to make videos. All this stuff boiled down to needing a place to express myself in an honest format without trying to fill a mold of "blogger"
